Early access

The software where your restaurant keeps everything.

kosmo is complete restaurant management software for hospitality, built so you can run every area of your business from a single place. Add items, cost your dishes, run the daily operation, keep your food-safety records up to date and your books tidy and always current.

We're still in development. If you like what you see and you'd like to try the software early, leave us your details and we'll get in touch once everything is ready, with a free 30-day trial for you.

Flying blind

A restaurant makes nearly every decision without the numbers in front of it

Not out of carelessness. Because pulling those numbers together takes hours a service doesn't have.

01

Your best seller is costed at two-year-old prices

Oil went up, meat went up, fish went up. The costing is still in the folder where you left it, with the prices from the day you made it.

02

The place across the street sets your prices

You look at what they charge and adjust. Nobody has checked whether that price makes you money on that dish or loses it every time it leaves the kitchen.

03

The food-safety records get filled in the night before

From memory, same pen, half an hour. Everyone knows how this goes. The inspector knows too.

04

You find out about July in September

Your accountant tells you once there's nothing left to fix. July is gone, and so is any chance of changing it.

What exists today

The restaurant software out there doesn't talk to itself

Each knows one part and none sees the whole. You end up paying two or three subscriptions, typing the same thing in different places, and keeping the old spreadsheet just in case.

Concepto POS Costing software Food-safety apps kosmo
What you sell Yes No No Yes
What each dish costs No Yes No Yes
The food-safety logbook No No Yes Yes
The month's result No No No Yes
How many subscriptions One Another And another One flat fee per site

The difference

Change the price of flour and the month's result moves

It isn't about having more separate features. It's that a figure gets typed once and every module uses it. Nothing is entered twice.

01

The delivery note arrives

You put the new flour price on the item. Once, in one place.

02

Costings recalculate

The eight dishes with flour in them update their cost on their own. You open none of them.

03

The menu moves

You see straight away which dishes have drifted past your cost target and which hold.

04

It lands in your costs

That supplier already exists, so their invoice enters the month without retyping anything.

05

And you see the month

Revenue, costs, EBITDA and estimated tax. On the first, not forty days later.

What's inside

Fifteen modules: costings, HACCP, stock and accounts

The one who does the maths, the one who opens up every morning and the one who closes the month. All three share the same data.

What it costs

The purchase price goes in once and travels through everything else.

ItemsYour ingredients with each supplier's real price
CostingsDishes, preparations, cocktails and set menus, to the cent
Menu & PricingRecommended price for whatever margin you want
Set menusIndividual or group, priced per head

The daily run

What has to happen every morning, every service and every close.

HACCPThe five records an inspection asks for

Buying and money

From the supplier order to the month's result, with no gaps.

SuppliersWith their items, their prices and their history
OrdersWhat needs ordering, ready to send
Notes & invoicesFiled and findable, not in a shoebox
AccountsThe month closed, with EBITDA and estimated tax

The one that gets people moving

The food-safety logbook, done on the day

The five records a health inspection asks for, filled in daily and saved with the date and who did them. When the inspector turns up, it's all there. And the allergen chart fills itself in from your own costings, so it stops being a separate document nobody updates.

  • Allergen chart, drawn from your own costings
  • Temperature checks for fridges, walk-ins and freezers
  • Fryer checks, with oil quality readings and oil changes
  • Goods-in checks, every time a delivery lands
  • Cooking and reheating, with core temperature

Fit

Who kosmo is built for

Size doesn't matter much. What changes is which part of kosmo you'll lean on hardest.

Perfect fit

Restaurants

You need all three things and probably have none of them set up. This is where kosmo shows from the first month.

Very good fit

Restaurant groups

kosmo handles multiple businesses by design: switch site with one click, and each keeps its own numbers.

Good fit

Bars and cafés

Fewer costings than a restaurant, but the same food-safety records and the same books, and those weigh just as much every month.

Optimal fit

Franchises

The same menu and the same costings across every site, and all your units inside one system instead of three separate apps.

Excellent fit

Restaurant consultants

Run several clients from one account and show them real numbers on every visit.

Where it comes from

Built by someone who works in kitchens

kosmo didn't start as a startup idea. It started as the spreadsheets a working restaurant consultant already used with his clients: the same costings, the same food-safety records and the same profit and loss accounts he'd been keeping by hand, client by client, for years.

That's why the screens sit where they sit and the fields are the ones they are. Every module exists because a real restaurant needed it, not because it looked good on a feature list.

kosmo is built by RIMA Consulting, the restaurant consultancy all of this came out of.

"I'd been doing this in spreadsheets for my clients for years. kosmo is the same thing, without breaking every time a price changes." Ricardo Marini · Chef, restaurant consultant, founder of RIMA Consulting and founder of kosmo

Straight answers

Where kosmo stands right now

We'd rather you knew before leaving your details than after.

It's built and it runs

Fifteen modules in use, with an automated test suite over the real code, validated against data from working restaurants. Not a mockup, not a list of intentions.

It isn't on sale yet

Restaurants are using it and telling us what breaks before we open. This site sells nothing: it only collects the people who want in early.

What happens if you sign up

We get in touch when everything is ready and you come in on a free 30-day trial. Before that we'll walk you through kosmo and ask what you need. No filler emails, no lists.

Questions

What people usually want to know

What will it cost?

A flat fee per site, no setup charge, and no extra for putting your whole team in. All fifteen modules are in that fee: there's no cut-down version.

Activate several sites of the same company at once and each one gets a discount.

We're still settling the exact figure and we don't want to give you one and then change it. Leave us your details and you'll be among the first to know.

Everything is in spreadsheets right now. Do I start from scratch?

No. Items can be imported from a spreadsheet, which is exactly the part that takes longest to type by hand. After that, costing a dish is picking ingredients from a list and setting quantities.

Does the food-safety side hold up in a real inspection?

It carries the five records a health inspection asks for, completed daily and saved with the date and who did them. They export to PDF with a signature line, which is what an inspector looks for.

The allergen chart fills itself in from your costings, and you can override any cell by hand if your case calls for it.

kosmo is built around Spanish food-safety practice. If you operate outside Spain, tell us where and we'll be straight with you about what fits and what doesn't.

I have several sites. How does that work?

One account covers them all: kosmo handles multiple businesses by design, you switch site from a dropdown and each keeps its own items, costings and books separately.

The fee, on the other hand, is per site. Activate several within the same company at once and each one gets a discount. Beyond that there's room to talk it through.

Where is my data, and can I take it with me?

Your data lives on the kosmo server, so you reach it from any computer in the site without depending on one particular machine.

And it's yours: export it to CSV whenever you want, for your own records or to migrate to another program. Nobody holds your information hostage here.

Does it replace my POS or my accountant?

Neither: kosmo sits alongside them. The POS keeps taking money at the bar and your accountant keeps filing your taxes. What kosmo does is let you see how the month is going while the month can still be fixed, instead of finding out forty days later.

We're going to integrate with POS systems, so what you sell lands in kosmo without anyone typing it. And further out, a POS of our own isn't off the table.

When does it launch?

We're sharpening kosmo with the restaurants already using it. The moment we have a date, the early access list hears it first.
